Rev. Burley Hudson was born in Alto, Texas. He graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in 1958.
In 1963 he married the late Ola Jean Henderson (Hudson) and in 1964 they moved to Dallas, Texas. In April, 2010, he married Angela Clayton of Dallas here at the Greater Emmanuel Church.
He has two children, Burley Dwayne Hudson and Gerald Bernard Hudson, and six grandchildren.

After High School, Rev. Hudson attended Tyler Barber College in Tyler, Texas. Rev. Hudson worked as a Barber from 1959 to 1968. Rev. Hudson worked at Sears for 11years.

In 1965, Rev. Hudson was called to preach the Gospel. He has been in the Ministry for 43 years. In 1972 Rev. Hudson graduated from the Inter-Racial Baptist Institute with a Diploma in Theology. On September 29, 1971, Rev. Hudson was called to Pastor the Greater Emmanuel Baptist Church and has been an inspiration for 36 years.


 

Rev. Hudson attended Bishop College. In 1984 Rev. Hudson received a Bachelor of Arts from Criswell College, and in 1990, he received a Master of Arts from Criswell Graduate School.
Rev. Hudson presently serves as the President of the Galilee Griggs Congress, the President of the Texas State Missionary Baptist Congress of Christian Education, and the Chairperson of the Youth for Christ.

Rev. Hudson is a member of the Baptist Ministers Union. He has served as an instructor at the D. Edwin Johnson Theological Institute and currently is a member of the school's Steering Commitee. Pastor Hudson was inducted into the Elite News Religious Hall of Fame on Septemebr 5, 2009.He also serves as teacher in our National Congress.

Pastor Burley Hudson is a very humble, kind,and loving man who faithfully and tirelessly loves and serves his congregation. He loves preaching and teaching the word of God to his people. He has faithfully dedicated his life to the expositional preaching and teaching of God's word. Rev. Hudson's favorite Sermon is “Let the Redeem of the Lord Say So” Psalm 107, his favorite song “Order My Steps” and his favorite color is Blue.
